Updates from Energy Transfer – Feb. 16, 2026

As part of our ongoing site investigation and characterization work, we will begin mobilizing and drilling two additional monitoring wells in the Mt. Eyre neighborhood, starting the week of Feb. 23. These monitoring wells will be used to evaluate groundwater quality. The work is being completed under the oversight of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection in accordance with the Act 2 regulations, as part of our response to the pipeline release.

Next week, Sunoco Pipeline LP’s contractors will be installing the monitoring wells, which includes drilling, similar to the activities observed during the installation of the recovery and monitoring wells last summer. During this work, sound walls will be installed around the drilling site as appropriate to mitigate noise. Residents will observe drilling equipment and support vehicles in the neighborhood, and drilling equipment may remain on site overnight.

Drilling activities will be conducted between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday (note that equipment setup and site cleanup may occur outside of this time frame, as approved by Upper Makefield Township).
