Update from Energy Transfer – Aug. 5, 2025

As part of our ongoing site investigation and characterization work, we have begun mobilizing and drilling several monitoring wells (MW) in the Mt. Eyre neighborhood. Phase 1 of this work started on July 21 and was completed. We are currently working on Phase 2 of MW installation at three locations in the Mt. Eyre neighborhood. Below is an update on the installation schedule:

Tentative work scheduled:

  • Monitoring Well 6D & 6S (Glenwood Drive)
    • Aug. 5-6
  • Monitoring Well 7D & 7S (Walker Road)
    • Aug. 6-7
  • Monitoring Well 8D & 8S (Spencer Road)
    • Aug. 8-9

General information:

  • During this work, sound walls will be installed around each drilling site as appropriate to mitigate noise. Road signage and traffic control (i.e., flaggers) will be deployed in a similar manner to the traffic control that occurred during the installation/drilling of previous wells in the neighborhood. Residents will observe drilling equipment and support vehicles in the neighborhood during this work, and drilling equipment may remain on site overnight.
  • Drilling activities will be conducted between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday (note: equipment setup and site cleanup may occur outside of this time frame, as approved by Upper Makefield Township).
  • These monitoring wells will be used to evaluate groundwater quality as part of our continued site investigation and characterization work. The work is being completed under the oversight of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection in accordance with the Act 2 regulations, as part of our response to the pipeline release.

Notification:

  • In addition to this email notification, courtesy notifications will be provided by phone to residents near each of the proposed MW locations and those located on roads that will be closed to through traffic.  (Note: All residents, guests, deliveries, buses and other services will have road access during the work activity.)
