Updates from Energy Transfer – May 19, 2026

As part of our ongoing site investigation and characterization work, beginning the week of May 25, SPLP will begin mobilizing work crews and prepare for the drilling of four new monitoring wells in Walker Road near the intersection of Glenwood Drive. Markings regarding the monitoring well locations are visible within Walker Road and in the vicinity of the proposed activity.

Mobilization by the SPLP work crews is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, with work continuing Mondays – Fridays until completion. The drill rig and ancillary equipment will be located on one side of the Walker Road, requiring one lane closure, only. Traffic signs and flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic flow during work hours.

The Council Rock School District has confirmed that it will continue to utilize the alternate bus stops located at the intersection of Crestwood Road and Spencer Road/ Crestwood Road and Walker Road through the end of the school year.

During this work, sound walls will be installed around each drilling site as appropriate to mitigate noise. There will be single lane road closures on Walker Road. Residents will observe drilling equipment and support vehicles in the neighborhood during this work, and drilling equipment may remain on site overnight. Drilling activities will be conducted between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (note: equipment set up and site cleanup may occur outside of this time period, as approved by Upper Makefield Township).

All well locations are driven by previously collected data, observations at other wells, and product recovery, with the desired goal of effective remediation. The wells proposed in Walker Road will be monitoring wells and will be used to evaluate groundwater as part of our continued site investigation and characterization work. The work is being completed under the oversight of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection in accordance with the Act 2 regulations, as part of our response to the pipeline release.

In addition to this website update and email notification, courtesy notifications will be provided by phone to residents near each of the proposed monitoring well locations.
